Outreach Ministries
Who We Are:
The Dream Center is a non-profit organization located in Foley, Alabama and serves all of Baldwin County. The Dream Center is a place where disadvantaged youth aged 12-18 can begin to rebuild and transform their lives with the help of caring mentors and educators.
What We Do:
The Dream Center program focuses on diversion techniques which redirect participants away from delinquent behavior and help them improve interactions with peers and authority figures, in school and at home. The Dream Center utilizes as many tools as possible to keep participants from giving up and quitting life. When Dream Center participants begin to experience success in academics, in a hobby, and in their relationships, they begin to imagine a brighter future.
How We Do It:
The Dream Center partners with Juvenile Justice and area schools to help break the cycle of abuse, victimization, and criminality by providing mentoring, conflict resolution training, drug and alcohol education and accountability, classroom tutoring and homework assistance, financial assistance for clothing needs and extra-curricular activities, a food pantry, work force readiness, and college application assistance

Mary’s Shelter Gulf Coast
Mary’s Shelter Gulf Coast (MSGC) was incorporated in 2001 to address the needs of women experiencing an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy. It is patterned on other existing and successful Mary’s Shelters in Minnesota, Pennsylvania, California and Florida. The original founder of these Mary’s Shelters, Jan Lindsay, was instrumental in founding MSGC, together with a core group of like-minded parishioners from St. Thomas-by-the-Sea Catholic Church in Orange Beach, Alabama. Thanks to the support of area churches, businesses and individuals who believed in our mission of providing a home to women who were homeless, pregnant and in danger of aborting their baby, the Shelter opened its doors in the spring of 2006.
The main area we serve covers the counties of Mobile, Baldwin and Escambia in Alabama, and Santa Rosa and Escambia counties in the state of Florida. These five counties average about 100 abortions per week. MSGC is the only charitable organization in this five-county area able to offer shelter and support to homeless, pregnant adult women, before and after the birth of their child.
Mary’s Shelter Gulf Coast is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. The facility is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During the workday, our Executive Director oversees all aspects of operating the home. She is assisted by a Program Manager who helps our residents set goals for their future, and meets with each resident on a regular basis to review their progress; an administrative assistant; and a grant researcher and writer. A resident adviser is always on the premises. Also, many volunteers help with all aspects of the program, from rocking babies, to preparing mailings and performing upkeep on our facility.
Please join Mary’s Shelter as we continue to discern how best to accomplish our Vision of caring for homeless pregnant women who choose life for their unborn chil
We have recently opened a Thrift Store which allows not only a source of revenue but provides a place where the women work and learn skills need to help set them up for productive futures with their baby.

Your donations of quality, clean and usable items help to stock the store and go out into our community as low-cost goods that assist them with their needs. In addition to funding Mary’s Shelter Gulf Coast, the value to the community cannot be underestimated. When the needs of families are met through the generosity of neighbors stronger communities are the result! Thank You!
